international Performing Arts Lab and Conference: Call for Artists

is inviting you to take part in the intensive programme of practical training, lectures, discussions guided by the Russian theatre director and teacher Sergei Ostrenko, and the conference programme with leading experts and teachers from different countries.
Special discounted fees are available for artistic ensembles and their leaders as well as senior students groups and their teachers!
Participants: actors of physical, dramatic, dance, musical theatres, circus performers, directors, choreographers, visual artists, sound and light designers.
Talents from different background, genre and style can draw from Ostrenko's system and develop their skills according to their field of expertise, enlarge personal horizons and create connections with colleagues from all over the world.
A unique contemporary window to get acquainted with other artists intuitions and meet with new potential collaborators!
Programme:
The programme is focused on Ostrenko's method of actor’s training, relying on the Russian Theatre Tradition and the newest experiments in performing arts. Participants will practically explore physicality as the principal creative instrument, the key to form, style, atmosphere and emotional palette in contemporary performance, stepping
beyond the limits of habitual text-based acting. Performer's physicality in the methods of Stanislavsky, Meyerhold and M.Chekhov, Meyerhold's Biomechanics Etudes, Tai-chi for actors, Training by method of improvisation, scene composition from exercises to performance: these are some of the elements uniquely transformed and combined in Ostrenko's teaching system to suit performers, directors and teachers contemporary needs.
The Lab and Conference are a great opportunity to approach a unique methodological and practical material that will enrich your professional skills and will offer you the possibility to share an intense creative experience at a global level!
The event will take place in the "Green Heart" of Austria, Styria Region, at the historic 15th century castle. Nearest international airports - Graz and Vienna, Austria.

01. Funding for Dance Day
CID Sections are advised to contact their municipality asking to include in the budget of 2011 funds for the celebration of Dance Day 29 April. Inform all schools and companies in your city, prepare for coordinating celebrations, make list of journalists and media.
02. CID World Congress in Spain
In Cordoba 1-5 December 2010. Registrations are open for performances, classes, lectures, exhibitions. New website:

03. University position in Canada
University invites applications for a full-time position in Dance Education at the assistant or associate professor level.
04. Festival in South Korea
Presented by the Seoul Section of the CID-UNESCO, the 13th Seoul International Dance Festival takes part in various parts of the city. This year’s event invites 58 dance troupes from 20 countries to present 63 projects.
05. Festival in Portugal
Folk ensembles from all countries are invited to festival from 27 July to 2 August 2011. Live music, up to 35 persons, programs for 15, 20, and 40 minutes. Accommodation and full board, free time for beach and tourism.
06. University position, USA
Assistant Professor of Dance Ethnology to teach undergraduate course in Dance in World Cultures and graduate courses in dance ethnology.
07. University position, USA
Opening for the position of Assistant professor, Asian Performing Arts, Asian Studies.
08. Workshop on Oriental dances
4-14 July in Tunisia and 16-23 July in Egypt. Folk dances from the Maghreb with live music. International certification CID.
09. Championship in Italy
World Championship of dance and dance sport 25-31 May 2011 in the region of Tuscany.

Announcing the establishment of the Buenos Aires Section of CID. The Section is now officially recognized and available for direct contacts and cooperation.

Au cours de ce séminaire spécial proposé par Marcelo et Johana, un travail en profondeur sur 3 aspects systémiques du Tango sera proposé.
Les thèmes suivants seront abordés : Structures fondamentales du Tango et son évolution aux nouvelles tendances (paroles, mélodie et rythme); Une approche à la fois technique et culturelle de la marche pour comprendre la "caminata tanguera" et trouver sa propre marche ferme et esthétique ; De la même manière, la recherche de la connexion se fera par une étude sociale des différents styles d'abrazo au cours du temps ( du canyengue à l'ouvert ) afin de pouvoir être à l'aise avec tout type de partenaire.
